PreFense For SCHOOLS
Our schools should be safe havens for teaching and learning. School violence not only affects the individuals involved but also may disrupt the educational process and affect bystanders, the school itself, and the surrounding community. School violence can result in such undesired events as suicide and homicide. On June 26, 2020, the National Sheriffs’ Association, in recognizing the importance of addressing school violence, issued its amended School Safety Resolution including recommended best practices for school violence prevention.
PreFense® for Schools is a school safety training in this school safety education training program, employing a three-by-three (three protective elements applied at three assessment levels) protection matrix that fills the most commonly known gaps in school safety with recommended best practices. Integrating these with your existing school security, this program trains concerned parents, faculty, and staff to remedy vulnerabilities below the threat assessment threshold by limiting physical security (response) dependency and introducing sustainable violence, suicide, and child trafficking intervention.
PreFense® for Schools is listed on the National Sheriffs’ Association website Additional Resources on School Safety and Security page and is a vetted.EDU space training program for those parents with kids in school who want to be an active part of their child’s learning environment safety.
Parents choosing to be part of preventing school violence renders everyone involved a learning community stakeholder in maintaining a safe and healthy learning experience. Participation in this school safety education training program results in parents, faculty, and staff who are prepared to meet the ever-changing demands of a vibrant and thriving learning environment.
