I snapped this picture of my daughter… and in that moment, I just paused.

I looked at her smile, the way she moves, the way she's growing into herself, and my heart felt full and a little sad all at once. She’s growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday she was this little girl holding my hand everywhere we went. Now she’s becoming her own person, right in front of me.

It hit me… Time really does fly.

It reminded me how important it is to go out with her. To spend time, to laugh, to talk, to just be together, no phones, no rush, just us.
I’m so glad I took this photo. Not just to remember the day, but to remember her—how she is right now.

So mamas, take the picture. Talk. Laugh. Be silly. Try something new. Listen to her stories, her dreams, and even her quiet moments and just be with her.

These are the moments we’ll never get back… and the ones they’ll never forget.

How many times have you asked your child something, and that’s all they say?

“How was your day?”
“Why did you do that?”
“What’s wrong?”

And the answer is… “I don’t know.”🤷🏻‍♀️

As parents, we want to help. We want our kids to talk to us, to trust us, to open up when something’s bothering them. But when all we hear is “I don’t know,” it can feel frustrating and even a little heartbreaking.

Kids don’t always say “I don’t know” because they don’t know.
Sometimes they say it because they’re scared.
Scared they’ll get in trouble.
Scared we won’t understand.
Scared they’ll be judged.

That’s why it’s so important to make sure our kids feel safe to talk to us.
When they know we’re listening—not just to their words, but to their hearts—they’ll start to share more. When we don’t interrupt, don’t jump in with a lesson, don’t get mad right away… they’ll start to feel like it’s okay to be honest.
It takes time. It takes patience. But it’s worth it.

By showing them we care more about understanding than fixing.
By just being there, even in silence.
The more safe they feel, the more they’ll trust us with their thoughts.
